Red Carpet Classic sale smashed Northern Ireland sales record!
Dorepoll Herefords certainly rolled out the red carpet for visitors and buyers from all over the UK, Ireland and from farther afield at their production sale held on the 22nd of September 2007. A beautiful day with a large crowd and an outstanding selection of cattle, all contributed to an amazing sale.
Leading the days trading at 9600gns for a half share was Dorepoll 1 73J Jonathan 499 ET who surpassed the previous Northern Ireland record price for a Hereford bull at public auction of 3800gns in Northern Ireland for the 3rd time of the day! Jonathan has been shown three times in his life span and has finished up in the Championship line out on all three occasions He is sired by Remitall Jonathan 73J with his dam being Hill BNC 22J Journey 57L who was purchased as a heifer calf by William Haire at the 2001 New Century Event in Ontario from Hills Polled Herefords. Jonathan is a ¾ brother to Dorepoll 1 Online owned by Thornby Farms. The hammer fell at 9600gns to B&H&MR Myres of Boundless Poll Herefords Surrey.
The next record breaker was Dorepoll 1 93N Nationwide ET making 8000gns again for a half share to Peter Cobley of Kingslee Poll Herefords. Leicestershire. Nationwide has one of the most unique and impeccable pedigrees in the Hereford world today, containing no fewer than 4 Canadian or US national champions up close in his pedigree. His sire Remitall Nationwide ET 93N is sired by the mighty Remitall Keynote and from the $280,000 Remitall Catalina 24H cow, the mother of Remitall Online. His Dam Remitall Sally 131K was Canadian National champion female in 2002 and reserve in 2003. Nationwide is headed to Cogent UK bull stud before going to Leicestershire to have semen available early 2008 for world wide use.
Heading to Cheshire at 4000gns is Dorepoll 1 60G Chinook ET to Sheaf Farm and the herd of Nicholas and Heath. Chinook is an ET son of JSF Nibbs 60G and from Harvie Ranching’s Harvie Miss Gwen 7G cow. Chinook was Calf and Reserve Male Champion at the NI National show 2006, In 2007 he was Reserve Male Champion at Royal Ulster and Champion at Antrim . He to is entering the Cogent UK bull stud with semen being available early in 2008 also for world wide dispatch.
Leading the female trade at 4800gns was Dorepoll 1 Debutant a June 2006 daughter of Dorepoll 1 Olympian. Debutant comes from the Duchess cow family being a grand daughter of Dorepoll 1 Royal Duchess R15 who was twice Balmoral show female Champion. Her dam, Dorepoll 1 HL Duchess has a full brother working in M&M Roberts Bromley Court herd in Herefordshire. Debutant joins the Reydon herd of Katy and Luigi Munday Debutant has an early service date to Dorepoll 1 60G Chinook ET and is in the top 5% of the breed for 200 and 400 day weights, RBY and Terminal Index.
Also heading to Cheshire was Triple H 1E Lady 501 ET the only horned heifer in the sale and the result of the Haires successful ET programme. Sired by HR Robin Hood 1E a Calgary bull sale champion and from LRD Lady Domino 13D she sold in calf to Dorepoll 1 73J Jonathan 499 ET at 3350gns to the herd of David and Elizabeth Heath.
Rounding up the 3000gns section in the Incalf heifers was lot number no 11 Dorepoll 1 100L Nylon 5152 ET. This smart December 2005 heifer sired by BRL Call 100L, a past Denver USA National Champion and from Harvie Ranching’s well known brood cow Miss Nylon 1Y. She sold in calf to Dorepoll 1 93N Nationwide ET to Alan Croskery from Downpatrick for 3000gns.
Matthew Goulding from Co.Kerry lead the maiden heifer bidding with the purchase of Dorepoll 1 R51 Duchess 525 AI, a maternal sister to Dorepoll 1 Debutant, at 3600gns. Duchess 525 is sired by Doonbiddie Hustler and again comes from one of the most prominent cows in the herd Dorepoll 1 HL Duchess. Duchess 525 was reserve Female champion at Antrim show 2007 and her EBVs are in the top 5% of the breed for 400and 600 day weight as well as Terminal Index
